Tiziano Manca (b. 1970, Squinzano, Italy) studied Philosophy at the University of Florence and Composition at the Conservatory of Florence with Romano Pezzati and Salvatore Sciarrino. He also studied Electronic Music with Albert Mayr and Conducting with Piero Bellugi. His composition degree was awarded with a grant from the Fondazione Federico del Vecchio.
He has been composer-in-residence at the Akiyoshidai International Art Village (Japan), the Fondation Royaumont (Paris), and the Akademie Schloss Solitude (Stuttgart).
His music has been performed by ensembles including Ensemble Recherche, Klangforum Wien, musikFabrik, Neue Vocalsolisten, Ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble Mosaik, and Collegium Novum Zürich, among others, and presented at festivals and venues such as the Lucerne Festival, Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Gaudeamus Music Week, Ars Musica, Ultraschall Berlin, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, and Teatro San Martín in Buenos Aires.
He composes instrumental and vocal music ranging from solo and chamber works to music theatre and a cappella choral pieces.
Manca is currently an artist researcher at the Orpheus Institute in Ghent and, since 2024, Professor of Composition at the Conservatorio di Musica "G. Frescobaldi" of Ferrara.
